Biking

                My uncle and I have been riding bikes a lot.  On the almaden lake trail there are dirt trails that we ride. It is so fun.

Santa Cruz Part 1

A couple days ago was my moms birthday.  For her birthday she wanted to have no kids in the house for two days.  So my dad made arrangements for us to go to peoples house.  Reece and I got to go to the wallworks house and spend the night.  We were excited cause they live in santa cruz close to the beach.  When we got there we played baseball outside there house and played with all the neighbor hood kids.  Then we went to the pool with all the neighbor hood kids.   Their pool has a hot tube too.  It was so cold in the pool so we spent most our time in the hot tube.  In the hot tube we played rock paper sizers. Whoever lost had to jump in the big pool.  When we got home we got ready to got to someones house to watch down and derby since it was almost time for there pine wood derby.  When we got there we played on there huge tire swing and then went in to watch the movie.  It was pretty fun.  I had already seen it so I got kinda bored.  When we got home we went to bed early so we could wake up and go surfing!!!!  There dad was a really good surfer he woke up really early and went serving with his friends and then came back and got us.  It was about 8:00 when we went to the beach. When we got there we got in the water and started surfing.  It was my first time so all I really did was buggy board with the surf board.  After a little while we went back to shore while there dad went farther out to serf.  We left our serf boards on the shore and then played in the waves.  We tried to withstand some of the waves but the big ones pulled us under and shoved us around.  So when the next big one came we dived under it and it passed above us.  It was super fun.

Memorial Breakfast

Yesterday for Memorial day the church hosted a pancake breakfast.  I was asked to arrive early to help bake and cut fruit, set tables up, and set up chairs.  So I woke up at 6:45 my mom took me to the church .  When I got there I checked to make sure the flag was in the closet because we were doing the flag ceremony.  Then I helped cut the fruit and defrost the strawberries.  Even though the strawberries were in the fridge they still got froze solid.  After cutting the food I helped set up chairs and tables.  By the time we were done it was about time to raise the flag.  So our scoutmaster announced that we were hosting the flag and we started.  My friend go was the color guard caller and I was one of the people holding the flag.  When we were done we found out they needed more tables.  By the time we were done doing that. There was a huge line for food.  So we waited for our food and then ate a delicious meal.

Fungous

For science I have been growing fungous.  We did a lot of experiments like growing fungous with yogurt snot and blood.  When we were done there were a couple more plates to grow fungous so we got to make our own to take home.  I put blood and sock sweat on my plate and took a picture every day.  These pictures start with day 1# and so on.

NEW BEDS

My room has had a lot of changes.  As you can see in these pictures Reece and I got new beds!!!

And these are our new beds.  They are awesome they have shelfs and desks.

I guess its legs are kinda big but I thought she meant the body was as big as her hand

 This is are garden it is still recovering from winter but it started going crazy in the past week.

Pinnacles National Park

A couple days ago my scout troop went to Pinnacles National Park. Since I am the Secretary I planned the hole campout.  After all the planning only 2 people could come. And 2 leaders.  Ryan and me.  So we met at the church and started packing the car then we went to pick up br. muliner at his house.  When we got to the campout we set up the tents and started dinner we had cup n noodles and mountain house.  Then we played a game of golf which is a really cool card game.  We played like all night until we went to bed.  Ryan and me slept in a two man tent.  The next morning we got up and packed are stuff and had breakfast and then got ready to do a 10 mile hike!!!!  We filled are packs with water and started hiking. It was about a mile before we came to our first CAVE!  It was so cool we came to places where you carl.  When we got at we kept hiking and hiking and hiking and then we came to switch backs.  There was about 20 of them.  It was so hard

 Are backs were killing us.  When we were done with that we had to hike down the other side of the mountain.  This killed our knees.  But when we got to the bottom we got to hike through a meadow.  It was an awesome campout.  Cant wait tell our next one

Bike Ride

On Saturday my family went on a bike ride.  When we started the first thing you see is Almaden lake.  We saw turtles and people fishing.  As we kept riding I found trails that you could take and then get back on the main tail.  It was super fun.  Then we came to a part that had a pile of dirt that made a perfect jump.  I took it and got so much air.  Then we came to the park.  It was super fun.  There was also a baseball game going on that I watched.  We also played tag and hide and seek.  There was a cool trap door that you open and then climb down a latter to get to the ground.  After a little while my dad let  Gwyneth, Reece and me ride home.  
                     
     
                                                                       P.S.  we just ordered frogs through are school. I am so excited.  It comes with 11 so if they all survive we will have 11 frogs.
                                                 
                                                           

Snow camping

Last Thursday my boy scout troop went snow camping.  We had been preparing for over a month.  I had all my gear in a backpack and a duffle bag.  When we got there we loaded up the sleds and we each walked with one to the camp witch was about a mile away.  There was tons of snow so it was hard hiking in.  When we got there we set up camp in a hurry because we were running out of daylight.      It was so tiring.  All my friends and I slept in a 6 man tent.  When we were done it was pretty much night time.  So we built a fire and had hot dogs and chicken patties.  It was the best hot dog I had ever had.  It was so nice by the fire, if you walked away from the fire you would instantly feel the cold.  When we went to sleep we tired to stay up as long as we could because the longer you stay up the warmer you'll get.  The next day was awesome, James my friend and I woke up at 7:00 and had breakfast (eggs in a bag).  Then we went exploring.  We found a stream that was half way frozen,  a bridge that was buried in snow and a frozen lake.  But we did not walk on it because it was cracking.  When we were walking back we found an Igloo!!  It was so cool.  When we got inside it was super warm.  When we got back we sat around camp and had lunch witch was cup n noodles.  Then we all went to a big hill and built sledging tracks and built holes in the hill and had snow ball fight.  We were at the hill pretty much the rest of the day.  When we got back to camp my dad arrived with Reece and Joe!!!!!!!!!!  We showed Joe everything we had found and all our secret hide outs including the igloo.  That night dinner was Mountain house and tortuous   When we went to bed we all woke up to it snowing!!!  It was not snowing that hard but it was also super windy.  When we woke up we packed are stuff and put the sleds together and hiked pack to the cars.  Then we said good bye and ever one went home except for my Dad,Reece and me.  We went to Bear valley ski resort.  It was so fun to finally snow board.  We did tons of runs and then we had lunch.  At the lunch place we found our scout leader!!  He said that one of the cars had broke down.  He told us if we could finish snow boarding a little early then you could pick us up and take us to the place the car was towed.  So we picked them up and drove to in and out to have dinner and then we drove home.

Spaghetti Dinner

A couple nights ago I went to a spaghetti dinner for choir from 6:00 to 9:30.  It was awesome!  When I got there I talked with some friends and played ping pong.  I was the king of the ping pong table.  I played a ton of games and only lost 1game.  After we played ping pong we had dinner and listened to music.  There was Garlic bread drinks salad and of course spaghetti. The Tenors were in charge of drinks and since I'm a tenor I brought squirt witch is a drink.  While I was eating dinner I met a girl that happened to be my old scout leaders granddaughter.  After we had eaten our food we played musical hats.  It is a super rough game.  How you play is you sit in a circle with a ton of other people with your hands behind your back, with music playing.  When the music stops you have to quickley  grab a hat and put it on your head.  And the person with no hat on there head is out.  I stayed in for a long time but when I was fighting for the hat it ripped and he won.  After that we lined up and got ready to play FLASHLIGHT TAG!!!!!!!!!!!!!  We played at a school that had a huge grassfield with tons of trees.  On the first round my freind and I hid by the tree's.  When the person came with the flashlight we hid in the bushes by the tree.  We were not found.  When the round was over we went back to the tables and talked about the rules again.  Then my friend and I volunteered to be it.  Our plan was to have me go one way flashing my light back and forth sending everybody left and then my freind was in hiding and jumped out and taged them.  I had so much fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Summer

This is my sister Summer on the Trampoline.  She is so cute.  She is such a loving person around the house.  But when she is tired don't bother her or else she gets really angry.  Her new thing is saying thank you really sternly.  It's super funny.  She just had her birthday.  Happy Birthday Summer

Kalen's Goals for 2013

 Physical- Get 3 JO's (Junior Olympics) in swimming.  To do this I need go to practice every day and focus on technique

School- Do a Study Island lesson every day do well in the star test and blog twice a week.

Spiritual- Do Duty to God, Read Scriptures and say prayers

Service- Play one hymn out of my book and two songs out of my lesson books at the senior home.

                              These are my goals for 2013 I can't wait to accomplish them.

Snow trip

Today was scouts.  We have a Snow Camping trip in February, so in scouts we decided what to do for food.  We also had a show and tell, were we all brought something we like for snow camping Snow camping.  For food we are doing easy stuff like Hot dogs, cup n noodles, eggs in a bag, beef jerky, muffins, and snack foods.  It is going to be super fun.  James, Joe and me want to make a snow cave and sleep in it.  Next week were going to watch videos about building snow caves.  So I'll blog more about that later.                                               Bye!!!!!!!!!

Sleeping on Trampoline

A couple of months ago Reece,Gwen,Georgia and I slept on the Trampoline.  I decided to blog this because I got a lot of pictures.  It was really fun.  We read books and looked at the stars.  We also told scary stories.  My dad scared us all because he took a picture with his phone and it had a really big flash.

Jump High

Today my friend James invited Joe,Karen,Emily,Dakota and me to Jump High.  Its a Trampoline place that has a huge trampoline and a dodge ball court.  When we got there we played tag on the big trampoline.  You could run really fast on a trampoline for some reason.  On the big trampoline there were trampoline wall that you could jump off of.  After playing tag the speaker said "if you are 11 and up come play dodge ball.  We all raced to the dodge ball court.  It was really fun.  I had to jump off a wall to avoid a ball.  I also threw some balls and hit a lot of people.  After the dodge ball game we played in the arcade.  I played air hokey with James and used a crane to get some candy.  When we were done at jump high we went to James house and played capture the flag and hide and seek.  I had a really fun time.

Update

Last Saturday my Dad,Reece and me went shooting for my friends birthday.  IT was awesome.  We each got to shoot ten times.  My score on my target was 97.  That is really good.  After shooting we went to Dells grandpas farm.  His grandpa had a huge tractor that he connected to a big trailer.  Then we all got to ride in the trailer.  Dells grandpa took us around and around his farm.  After he used a button to raise the trailer.  It got really high so we had to hold on to back or else you would fall out.  After that we had dinner around a fire.  And then we his grandpa let us use his mountain bikes.  It was really fun.  I rode my bike to the top of the hill and went really fast down the hill.  One of dells friends went down the hill and crashed.  The next day was sunday,  church is now at 1:00.  So I wake up at around nine and do journal, and read scriptures.  After church since I am a Deacon I have to clean the church.  After church I started Stake Youth choir.  It is really fun.  They gave us a calender that has all the practice schedule and the activities that we will do.  We are having a dinner as choir.  And at the end of the year were having a huge barbecue,  at golf land.
